What to expect when you visit Trafford Urgent Treatment Centre

Trafford Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) is a community facility that provides appointment-based access to urgent care provision to the local population in Trafford.

Mastercall provides the urgent care service at Trafford UTC. Our experienced clinical team assesses and treats people with urgent but non-life-threatening health needs, ensuring they are cared for in the most appropriate setting.

We encourage you to call NHS 111 or use 111 online before attending. This allows you to be given an appointment time and ensures you are seen as quickly as possible. Patients who arrive with an appointment, or who have the greatest clinical need, will always be prioritised. Walk-in patients are not turned away but may experience a longer wait.

We understand that visiting somewhere new can sometimes feel overwhelming — especially if you have sensory sensitivities or need a bit of extra support. That’s why we’ve created a short video to walk you through exactly what to expect when you arrive at Trafford General Hospital Urgent Treatment Centre.

🎥 Please watch our video to take a virtual walk-through of our building.

You’ll see what the entrance looks like, hear about the types of sounds you might notice, and follow the steps from the front door right through to the reception, waiting area, and your appointment room. You’ll also find out what support is available on site.

Here’s what you’ll learn in the video:

  • 🚪 What to do when you first approach the entrance during the day and out of hours

  • 🪑 What our waiting area is like

  • 🚪 How to check in at reception

  • 👋 Who you’ll meet — our friendly staff are here to help

  • 🏥 Where your appointment will take place

  • ❓ How to ask for help if you need anything at all

The UTC is open 8am to 8pm, seven days a week including bank holidays. Please remember that the service does not have inpatient beds, so patients who need admission will be transferred to the most appropriate hospital.

Please don’t hesitate to ask one of our reception staff if you need additional support. We’re here to make your visit as smooth and comfortable as possible.
